Gisaeng

 The title of this piece is Gisaeng 기생, which refers to the Korean geisha and literally means ‘art person’. This hat piece breaths traditional Korean feminine beauty, which in the old days was expressed through the graceful black wigs of the gisaeng.

 

Materials used: sinamay, jinsin, lace, string / self-painted organza.
